Trustly betting sites: deposits and withdrawals compared
Of the 24 UK bookmakers we compared, 6 name Trustly on their UK payment pages, 5 for deposits and 5 for withdrawals. Many more offer “Pay by Bank”, but that label does not tell you the provider: several bookmakers say their Pay by Bank runs through TrueLayer, and we do not count those rows as Trustly. Trustly withdrawals are paid to your bank account, and the bookmakers that explain the rule tie them to an earlier Trustly deposit or the same bank account.
How this page is funded: BookiePayout does not currently earn commission from any bookmaker on this page. If that changes, paid links will be labelled and will not change what we say, the order or which bookmakers are included. Affiliate disclosure.
How to read this comparison
The table lists every bookmaker we cover. A bookmaker counts as listing Trustly only where its own UK pages name Trustly; a “Pay by Bank” or “instant bank transfer” row that names another provider, or none, is shown in the bank transfer and Pay by Bank comparison instead. Each row shows deposits, withdrawals, the bookmaker’s processing time, any transfer time, a single figure where the stage is not stated, the minimum withdrawal, fees and conditions. Figures are operator-stated on the checked date and are not guaranteed receipt times.

How Trustly works
Trustly lets you pay a merchant directly from your bank account, a type of payment it calls Pay by Bank. It is neither the merchant nor your bank; it processes the payment between them.11 In the UK the service is provided by Trustly UK Limited, which the Financial Conduct Authority authorises as a payment institution to provide payment initiation and account information services.12 You do not need a Trustly account, password or app, only an eligible personal bank account and your bank’s own login.13
To deposit, you choose Trustly or Pay by Bank on the bookmaker’s site, pick your bank and approve the payment with your bank’s security method.14 Once you authorise it, the money usually leaves your account straight away and you cannot ask Trustly to cancel it.12 If Trustly shows a “Potential Transfer Delays” message, your bank has not processed the transfer instantly; Trustly says to allow up to 48 hours for the payment to reach the merchant, not counting weekends and bank closure days.15
Withdrawals are requested on the bookmaker’s site, not with Trustly, and the bookmaker decides whether Trustly is available and when the request is sent.14 Trustly’s help centre says that in most countries withdrawals arrive within 72 hours, without naming the UK, and that a payment can take longer if your bank processes it as a standard transfer.16 Trustly charges you no fee, although your bank or the merchant may, and minimum and maximum amounts can be set by your bank, the merchant or Trustly.121718
Trustly or another Pay by Bank provider
Open banking payments appear under several names, including “Pay by Bank”, “Pay with Bank Transfer” and “Instant bank transfer”.19 Behind each one is a regulated payment initiation provider that connects the merchant to your bank.20 Trustly is one such provider, and it uses the Pay by Bank name itself.11 So the button label does not tell you who is processing the payment; the bookmaker’s help pages sometimes do:
- TrueLayer named. Betfair, Paddy Power, Sky Bet and William Hill say they partnered with TrueLayer for Pay by Bank.21222324 Smarkets’ terms name TrueLayer for open banking deposits and withdrawals.25
- Trustly and TrueLayer side by side. Betway lists “Trustly” and “Truelayer – Instant Bank Payment” as separate deposit methods, and 10bet describes Trustly and “Pay by Bank transfer via TrueLayer” separately.15
- Provider not named. bet365 lists Trustly and, separately, a Pay by Bank row that does not name its provider.2
- Trustly named, but not for the UK. William Hill lists Trustly “for Finland only”.26 We do not count it.
The distinction matters for withdrawals, because the rules, limits and stated times belong to the route, not the label. At bet365, for example, the Trustly row allows withdrawals of up to £100,000 and the Pay by Bank row up to £20,000.2 It also tells you whose terms apply if something goes wrong: Trustly’s UK terms say that if you are unhappy with how Trustly handled a complaint, you may be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.12
Differences between bookmakers
- Same bank account in and out. 10bet says Trustly withdrawals are possible only to the same Trustly bank account used to fund your account; bet365 pays Trustly deposits back to the bank account used; Unibet says you must deposit with Trustly before you can use its Trustly withdrawal option.129
- A contradiction at 10bet. Its payment table’s Trustly withdrawal text tells you to “select TrueLayer” in the cashier, and its withdrawal panel gives a £10 minimum where the table says £5.1 If the cashier shows something different, follow the cashier and ask 10bet in writing.
- Withdrawal without a deposit listing. Betfair’s deposit list does not include Trustly, yet its missing-withdrawals article says to allow up to 4 hours for a Trustly withdrawal to reach your bank.427
- Deposit without a withdrawal statement. Betway lists Trustly for deposits and says the methods you can withdraw to appear in its Banking Withdrawal tab.56
- Old and new figures at Smarkets. Its 2023 Trustly article gives a £10,000 daily deposit maximum and 1–2 business days for withdrawals, and excludes the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey; its 2026 payment methods hub gives a £100,000 deposit maximum, 6 hours’ processing and then 1–6 business days.78
- Deposits are not always instant. bet365 says most Trustly deposits are credited instantly but some can take up to three banking days.3
Questions people ask
Is Trustly the same as open banking?
Trustly is one provider of open banking payments. Its UK company is authorised for payment initiation services, which is the open banking role of connecting a merchant to your bank.1220
My Trustly withdrawal has not arrived. Who do I contact?
The bookmaker first. Trustly says that if the money has not arrived within 72 hours you should check with the merchant that it has processed the payment, and Trustly cannot reverse a payment or issue a refund itself.1628 Trustly’s 48-hour delay guidance excludes weekends and bank closure days, so see weekends and bank holidays and pending withdrawals before chasing.
Can Trustly ask me for information about a payment?
Yes. Under its UK terms Trustly monitors payments for anti-money-laundering purposes, may ask about your identity, the purpose of a payment and where the money came from, and may refuse a payment if you do not answer.12 Bookmakers run their own checks too; see withdrawal verification.
Can I block gambling payments through Trustly?
Not in the UK: Trustly’s gambling block is available only in Finland.29 Many UK banks let you block gambling payments on your account or debit card instead.30
