Working-day calculator for withdrawals

Short answer

Enter the date you asked for a withdrawal and the number of working days the bookmaker states, and the calculator counts forward, skipping weekends and the bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. The result is a count of days, not a promise of payment.

The calculator needs JavaScript. Without it, you can count days using the bank holiday table further down this page: skip Saturdays, Sundays and the bank holidays for your part of the UK.

How the count works

  • Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding the bank holidays published on GOV.UK for the part of the UK you choose.1
  • Counting starts the day after your request unless you tick the box to count the request day. “Within 3 working days” of a Friday request, for example, usually means by the following Wednesday.
  • Calendar days count every day, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Where your bank is decides which bank holidays apply: Scotland and Northern Ireland have bank holidays that England and Wales do not, such as 2 January in Scotland and St Patrick’s Day in Northern Ireland.1

Examples

  • A bookmaker states “up to 3 working days” and you request a withdrawal on Friday 18 December 2026 with an English bank. Christmas Day (Friday 25 December) and the Boxing Day substitute (Monday 28 December) are bank holidays, but they fall after the count ends: the third working day is Wednesday 23 December 2026.
  • The same request with “up to 5 working days” skips the weekend, Christmas Day and the Boxing Day substitute, and lands on Tuesday 29 December 2026.1
  • A request on Friday 1 January 2027 in Scotland with “2 working days” skips the substitute bank holiday on Monday 4 January, so the count ends on Wednesday 6 January 2027.1

Limitations

  • Bookmakers and banks decide their own processing days. Some count from when they approve a withdrawal, not from your request; some run fast payouts at weekends. Check what the bookmaker says in its guide.
  • Bank holiday dates come from GOV.UK’s published list, which currently runs to the end of 2028. The calculator warns you if a count goes beyond that.
  • A calculated date is not a commitment by any bookmaker or bank. If money has not arrived by then, see what to check when a withdrawal is pending.
